Pickleball is an excellent way for kids to stay active, develop new skills and connect with friends in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Lessons are held Thursday evenings at the Portarlington Community Centre and open to children ages 6 and up.

About Our Kids Academy

Our Kids Academy meets Thursday evenings from 5 to 7 pm at the Portarlington Community Centre in Portarlington, R32 D797 Co. Laois.

Kids Academy sessions are structured to balance skill-building drills with engaging games and match play. Each session ensures a mix of learning, practice and fun to keep kids motivated and excited about the sport.
Our program focuses on improving key areas like agility, hand-eye coordination, and strategic thinking. Kids will also build confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship, setting them up for success both on and off the court.

Our Kids Academy welcomes players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to more experienced young athletes. We create an inclusive and encouraging environment where kids are paired with others at a similar level, ensuring everyone feels supported as they learn and grow in the sport.

Kids Academy sessions are led by Rallytime Pickle Founders Bobby and Francie Fitzpatrick.
Bobby and Francie are competitive pickleball players who have represented Ireland at the national level. They are parents of four pickleball-crazy kids and enjoy introducing the sport to the next generation of pickleball enthusiasts.
